Introduction
Forestry plays a key role in the economy of North Carolina. North Carolina has over 18 million acres of timberland, which supports a robust forest products industry across the state. In 2016, the NC forest sector contributed $32.8 billion, supporting approximately 150,000 jobs with a payroll of $7.8 billion.
