Figure 2. On some hosts, such as sycamore, anthracnose fungi can overwinter within twigs. Once anthracnose infects twigs, symptoms like cankers and dieback may occur.
The branch of a sycamore tree is covered in cankers, which appear as small bumps. Green sycamore leaves and orange-brown buds are also present.
