The cotton jassid, also known as the two-spot cotton leafhopper, is a small leafhopper species native to Asia, with a range extending from Iran to Japan, that was first reported in the U.S. in Miami-Dade County, Florida, in November 2024. By September 2025, cotton jassid had been reported in over 101 counties across nine southern U.S. states including North Carolina.
